Data Center Cooling System Flush
Pre-commissioning a new or expanded data center requires thorough high-velocity flushing of chilled-water and condenser-water cooling systems, including loops connected to cooling towers. Construction debris — mill scale, welding slag, rust, dirt, and particulates — left in the piping after installation can foul pumps, chillers, heat exchangers, strainers, and server cooling components if not removed before the system goes live.
Our rental filtration skids, commonly 36" OD horizontal filter vessels with 12" inlet/outlet connections, are designed for exactly this application. Temporary pumps circulate large volumes of water through the piping network at turbulent flow velocities while multi-stage bag filters capture solids down to fine micron ratings. Differential pressure is monitored in real time, and loaded bags are quickly swapped out as the process moves through recirculation passes, fresh-water flushes, and periodic sampling for turbidity, total suspended solids, and particle counts — continuing until the water meets the project's cleanliness criteria.
Because this is a rental-based approach, there is no permanent equipment to install. Setup is fast, flow capacity is high, and results are repeatable. Once flushing is complete, the cooling system is ready for chemical treatment, passivation, and safe commissioning.
