Reactor and Product Recovery:
- Feed L/L Coalescer to Remove Water from Olefins (Make-up i-C4). Water accelerates acid “spend,” resulting in high operating costs.
- L/L Coalescer to Remove Water from iso-Butane Recycle. This is generally the most water laden stream due to various wash steps upstream of DIB.
- L/L Coalescer to Remove Carried-over Caustic & Water Upstream of DIB Tower. Caustic and inorganic sulphates will form/deposit in the reboiler/tower trays. Carryover caustic in the i-C4 recycle will neutralize the acid catalyst
