Refinery Reforming Filter Solutions
Process Purpose
Convert low octane naphtha into high octane reformate for gasoline blending, and/or to product aromatics (BTX) as a petrochemical feed. Also, a net producer of hydrogen which is exported to hydrotreating or hydrocracking processes.
Reformer Applications
Feed Conditioning – Filters, L/L Coalescers – Pleated heat exchanger protection, water removal
Burner Protection – L/G coalescer – Reformers are large contributors to total NOx emissions
Recycle Gas Compressor Protection – L/G coalescer – remove H/C carryover
Booster Compressor Protection – L/G coalescer – Exporting H2 from reformer to other hydro processes, H2 is first purified by membrane
Ammonium Chloride Removal – Filters – salts form as by-product, carried as vapor overhead of HP separator or in reformate, will precipitate upon cooling
Nitrogen Lift Gas Compressor Protection – L/G coalescer
